Designers plan, research, coordinate, and manage design projects. Interior design is a multifaceted profession that includes conceptual development, space planning, site inspections, measuring, research, sourcing, and execution of the design. Designers make interior spaces functional, safe and beautiful. Interior designers are qualified by means of education, experience, and artistic vision.
What services does your firm offer?
Full-service design, new construction/new builds, renovations and remodels, E-Design, in-home consultation, color consultation, furniture sourcing, interior styling, space planning, fabric & finish selection, lighting selection, and custom window treatments.
What does the design process look like?
We start with a complimentary phone consultation to learn about a client’s projects needs and make sure we are a good fit for their project.
The next step is to schedule an in-home consultation to discuss the project in detail. During this time, we will discuss the scope of work, budget, design style, functionality of the space, take measurements and discuss the timeline for completion. Together we will decide whether you are needing finishing touches, a design work session, design plan, or a design plan with full installation. During this time, we go over the Letter of Agreement and collect a retainer.
Next, is where the magic happens, and the creative process begins. We work on space planning, the design presentation and selecting finishes, fixtures and furniture. Once the design plan has been finalized, we schedule an appointment for the design presentation. After which the client has the option to venture out on their own and complete the project themselves or we move to full service design where we handle the ordering, deliveries, install and interior styling and complete the entire room for the client.
What does the E-Design process look like?
We start with a complimentary consultation (phone call) to learn about a client’s project needs and make sure we are a good fit for their project. We'll email the client an E-Design questionnaire that needs to be completed so we can define your vision, determine your budget, and develop a custom plan for your space. The next step is to purchase your E-Design package. You will receive a Letter of Agreement for your custom E-Design package and payment must be received before the design phase begins.
Next, the client provides us with all the necessary photos of the room(s), and a floor plan and wall elevations along with inspiration pictures. This is a very important part of the process to make sure we are on the same page in the design of your space. After all the necessary information is acquired you will receive a design board, floor plans with furniture layout, shopping lists and notes to guide your complete your design. One complimentary revision is included with your E-Design package. Revisions beyond that will be billed at our hourly rate. Once you approve the design plan you are free to implement the design as your time and budget allows.
Do you have a design style that you prefer?
We love design and love the creative process, so we try not to play favorites. We believe in helping clients love their space so it’s our job to help clients determine their preferred design aesthetic. We create designs that are reflective of our client’s tastes and needs - because most importantly we want you to love where you live.
What are your design fees?
Because each project is unique and individual to the client, we discuss fees and your budget during the consultation. We charge a flat fee for in home consultations, design packages- E-Design and color consultations and other options listed. The flat fees will estimate the total number of hours required to complete your project.
What is the typical timeline for your services?
For local design, your project could be 4 weeks to 4 months (or longer if there are renovations involved or if we’re ordering custom furniture). Project timelines vary depending on the scope of work to be completed and we can estimate your timeframe based on your individual project. For E-Design you can expect a finished design plan in 1-2 weeks.
How do I figure out my budget?
The budget you want to spend on your space is a personal decision and one that we cannot make for you. If you have a budget in mind it is important to share that with us from the beginning. If you don’t have a number in mind, we can help guide you to determine a realistic budget for your space and will provide you with a budget worksheet to complete if you are feeling stuck.
Can I shop on my own?
We ask that clients do not to shop on their own while we are working on a project together. You’ve hired Drakulic Interior Design to create and complete a vision of your space, and we want to make sure everything selected meets our shared vision so you get the best result! This allows you to sit back, relax, and let us take care of managing the details of design, purchasing, delivery and installation.
That said, please rest assured that you will absolutely be involved in this process and that your feedback and style preferences are extremely important to us! There will be times where we also organize showroom visits with our clients to see, sit on and feel important pieces in person.
